You got a text and you have read it eleven times. "sorry been busy, we should hang soon." Is that a brush off or a real plan? This text message decoder reads the message the way a friend who is good at this would: what it actually means, how interested they seem on a 1 to 10 scale, any red or green flags, and the one move that makes sense next. It works for "decode his text" and "decode her text" the same way, you just pick who sent it.

How it works

  1. Pick who sent it. He, she, or they. This changes how the AI reads tone and timing, since "k" from a guy who never uses periods is a different message than "k" from someone who usually writes paragraphs.
  2. Paste the message. One text or a short chunk of the chat. More context gives a better read, so if the message only makes sense with the one before it, paste both.
  3. Get the decode. You get the plain-English meaning, an interest level, the vibe in a few words, red flags, green flags, and a suggested next move you can send or ignore.

What a decode looks like

These are the kinds of messages people paste most. The decode is what the tool returned, shortened a little so it fits.

Him
hey sorry been super busy this week, we should def hang soon tho9:41 PM
Meaning: he is keeping the door open but not walking through it. Interest 5/10. Red flag: no day, no time, "soon" does the work. Green flag: he texted at all without you asking. Next move: give him one concrete option ("cool, Thursday or Saturday?") and see if he picks.
Her
had fun tonight, we should do it again
haha yeah it was fun!! get home safe 💕11:52 PM
Meaning: she enjoyed it and wants you to know she cares that you got home. Interest 8/10. Green flags: double exclamation, a heart, a follow up about your safety. No red flags. Next move: text tomorrow, not tonight, and propose the actual second date.
Him
k3:15 PM
Meaning: depends entirely on what came before it. If you asked a yes or no question, it is a lazy yes. If you sent three paragraphs, it is a wall. Interest: unknown without context. Next move: paste the message before this one and decode again.
Her
you're so sweet 😊 I just don't think I'm in the right headspace for anything rn6:20 PM
Meaning: this is a soft no. She is being kind and it is still a no. Interest 2/10. Red flag: "headspace" plus "anything" means she is closing the whole category, not just this week. Next move: a graceful "totally get it, no pressure" and then stop texting first.
Them
lol why are you like this10:04 PM
Meaning: playful, not annoyed. "lol" softens it and "why are you like this" is teasing, which is a form of attention. Interest 7/10. Green flag: they are engaging with your personality. Next move: match the energy ("you love it") and keep it light.

Tips for a better decode

When to use the text decoder

Use it when a message could mean two opposite things and you are about to reply based on the wrong one. The classic cases: a reply that came way later than usual, a text that is friendly but avoids your question, a one word answer after a long conversation, or an "I'll let you know" that has not turned into anything. It is also useful after a date, when you want a second opinion on a "had fun!" before you plan the next one.

Do not use it as a replacement for asking. If you have decoded five messages from the same person and you are still unsure, the honest move is a direct text. The decoder can even help you write it: check the reply generator for a version that asks without sounding needy.

📊 Already sent your reply and now waiting?

Paste what you sent and the reply predictor tells you the odds they text back, what helped, and what hurt.

Predict the reply

Read the whole chat, not one message

A single text is a snapshot. If you want the full read on interest level over the last few days, the chat analyzer takes a screenshot or a pasted conversation and scores the whole thing. For messages that are dry on your side rather than theirs, fix dry text rewrites your reply before you send it. And if you are trying to figure out whether the signs add up, the guides on signs he likes you through text and is she interested cover the patterns the decoder looks for.

FAQ

Is the text message decoder free?

Yes. You get a few free decodes in the browser with no account. The TextRizz app removes the limit.

How accurate is it?

It reads tone, word choice, punctuation, effort and timing the way an experienced friend would, and it explains its reasoning so you can disagree. It is not mind reading. Use the interest score as a direction, not a verdict, and paste more context if the result feels off.

Can it decode her text as well as his?

Yes. Pick "She sent it" and the AI adjusts how it reads tone and emoji use. There is also a "They" option if you would rather not specify.

What do the red flags and green flags mean?

Green flags are signs of effort or interest in the message: questions back, specifics, emoji, quick follow ups. Red flags are the opposite: vague plans, one word answers, ignoring your question, mixed signals. Neither is a final judgment, they are the reasons behind the score.

Does it store my messages?

The text is sent to the AI to generate the decode and is not saved or shown to anyone. Still, remove full names or anything private before pasting.

What if the decode says interest is low?

Then you have information most people never get. A low score usually means "stop investing more than they are." It does not mean send a long message asking why. Send something short, give them room, and let the next few days confirm or change the read.
